Words cannot possibly express the experience we had today so these pictures will have to sum it up! They are not necessarily in order, but I have tried my best to give a summary underneath each one.
Our day began with a trip to the Jade Factory where we learned all about what Jade means to the Chinese people.
We then headed to a cloisonne factory where they also served lunch in their Restaurant upstairs.
Then it was off to climb the Great Wall of China.
Enjoy!

Webb Family Warriors with their Princesses

The Great Wall of China at Juyongguan ~ no elevators, gondolas, escalators. Just old fashion foot/leg work.

The sign behind us supposedly says "All those who climb the Great Wall are great heroes", by Chairman Mao

Brian raising the flag

There truly are "odd" signs everywhere in China. Here is just one of them.

Grandma W waiting down below, while the rest of us set out for a climb.
A view from one of the top towers (I didn't make it up this far. After my bought yesterday I took it easy today. Just being here was awesome enough.)
Another tower shot from above. PD was the only one to make it all the way to the top.

LUNCH!

PD was brave enough to try it too! The rest of us decided to let him live it up and have all the glory. Eeww!

At the cloisonne factory with soldier statues, that were actually for sale. Not sure how we'd pack this one, guess we'll have to pass.

Entrance to the Wall.

We finished our tour today with a drive by the Olympic "Birds Nest" Stadium. We weren't allowed to get any closer than this as events were going on for the Paralympics Beijing 2008.

Sounds amazing! God bless!
Great post. I see you have the same gray skies we had. Oh well, it is still a GREAT experience.
Am emailing Ruth privately.
I think Brian and the boys should also post with their views of the experiences!!!
Totally amazing! I'm sure pictures don't even do it justice.
Breathe, pray, hug, and laugh!

These pics are spectacular. I am so happy to be able to share in your journey. It's bittersweet for me but I am so happy for you and especially for that little girl you are about to meet.
Did you, by any chance, see our locks?
I know...there are thousands of them, but wouldn't it be cool if you'd seen them?
