Nightlife

We signed papers yesterday afternoon and Abigail is "officially" ours. To celebrate we had a big dinner together and Abigail celebrated by grabbing a plate and tossing it to the ground with a CRASH!!
It is a good thing that babies get away with anything here!

After dinner we took a walk to the Haagen das and had a treat! Imagine a sign on this building saying Haagen Das. We didn't take a picture of it but this is what the night looks like here.

On our way back we stopped in the main plaza to try and see the light show that never happened. While we waited we became the entertainment. A huge crowd gathered around us and pushed in to see what all the fuss was about. The fuss was white people with Chinese babies, thankfully one of the other families can speak Chinese and explained what was going on. They thought it was a nice thing for us to do. You could here the explanation filter through the crowd as the people in front told those behind them. Then we started to head home and the crowd came with us. The followed us more than half way back to our hotel.

This was a little place we found but were not brave enough to try. Yes, that is octopus on a stick!! Dalton says he is going to try it, We will keep you updated.

This guy was out front of our hotel. KTM enough said!!!

Chongqing looks pretty at night. The contstant stares will wear you down, so try to ignore it. I think, in general, the Chinese don't have the same concept of "personal space" that we have ; ) so it can be a little frustrating when you're used to 'blending in' at home.

Still, you're out and about and enjoying the culture, so good for you!

I'll give Dalton a dollar if he eats one of those octopi on a stick...

I forget that China has big cities. It's so bright at night.

I'm lovin' the panda dance. I think I'll teach it to my 1st graders as a "get the wiggles out" dance.

I love seeing you hold your little girl. Congratulations! She's officially yours. I'd throw a plate, too (but then I'd have a broken plate. Can't wait for you to return.

let us know how the Octopus on a stick goes down. Sounds deelish...
Maybe more like a challenge on Survivor than just for enjoyment.

Ruth looks so content with her little "package" in the front pack. So cute!
